About North High Instrumental Music and Band Association (NHIMBA)

Our Mission

The North High Instrumental Music and Band Association (NHIMBA) is a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting and enhancing the instrumental music programs at North High School. Our mission is to foster musical education, promote performance excellence, and provide financial support for our students’ musical endeavors.

Programs We Support

We focus on the following instrumental and performance programs:

  • PE/Marching Band
  • Concert Band
  • Jazz Band
  • Wind Ensemble
  • Percussion/Drumline
  • Color Guard
  • Winter Guard

Our Purpose

NHIMBA’s primary purposes are to:

  1. Plan and assist with fundraising events
  2. Support performances and educational trips
  3. Provide annual scholarship awards
  4. Offer enthusiasm, advice, and moral support to our music programs

Membership and Leadership

NHIMBA membership consists of all registered students and parents/guardians of North High School instrumental music students in our supported programs. We are led by an Executive Board elected annually from our general membership, consisting of:

  • President
  • Vice President
  • Secretary
  • Treasurer
  • Parliamentarian

Financial Transparency

Our Treasurer maintains detailed financial records and provides regular reports to ensure full transparency of our operations. All funds raised are used to support our music programs, including performance expenses, trip costs, and scholarship awards.

Meetings and Involvement

We hold monthly Executive Board meetings and conduct at least three General Meetings each school year (fall, winter, and spring). All members are encouraged to attend these meetings and participate in our various activities throughout the year.

Annual Scholarships

NHIMBA proudly offers at least one annual scholarship to eligible North High instrumental music students in their senior year. This scholarship program underscores our commitment to supporting and encouraging excellence in music education.
